(Al-Mulk) 67 : 10

And they will say: If we had heard or we had utilised our intelligence, we wouldn’t have become the inmates of blaze.

The scene of wailing the Arabic Qur’an Reading Fujjar-the true disbelievers as told in verse 4: 150-151-who are leading a life here aimlessly and heedlessly as explained in verses 7: 179; and 46: 20, and who will witness against their soul that indeed they were disbelievers at the time of their death as explained in verse 7: 37, from the edge of the Hellfire is explained here. “If we had heard” told in the verse doesn’t mean “if we had heard the speech of Hypocritical transgressors on the Friday ceremony or any religious speech of them”, but it means that “if we had heard Adhikr”. “If we had utilised our intelligence” means if we had utilised our intelligence for understanding “what is the aim of life of mankind? What is the death? What will be after death? Etc.”
The Fujjar have read the verse 8: 22 which says that those who do not utilise the intelligence and are not ready to hear Adhikr and to speak about It to others are the worst creatures among thousand communities of Lord’s creatures. See explanation 4: 140; 36: 59-62; and 40: 85.
